We're proud to release a new contributed software page!  With this new page, we've categorized each offering, removed old/unneeded software, and collapsed detailed information into an easy-to-use format.  If you're curious what pieces of software can help you get the most out of Infobright, check out the new page!  If you've ever written a piece of code that works with Infobright, consider contributing it to the community!  To learn more about contributing software, please see: http://bit.ly/mMdsEE

Please let us know if there's anything you'd like to see improved on the page.

All the best,

Operating System Support within Infobright

Jeff Kibler's photo
by Jeff Kibler     Fri, Apr 22, 2011

I've noticed increased chatter in the forums regarding support of particular operating systems.  In particular,  Ubuntu 10 appears a few times.  Right now, Infobright Community Edition supports:

32 Bit:

  • Windows Server 2003
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
  • Debian ‘Lenny’
  • CentOS 5.2

64 Bit:

  • Windows XP
  • Ubuntu 8.04
  • Fedora 9

Right now, we do not (and cannot) track the official usage statistics per operating system.  As we're open source, we do not force registration nor require operating system be declosed in case of registration.  Thus, we rely on you to provide feedback on our selections of supported operating systems.  Given this list, what would you change?  Of course, we can only officially support a small subset of all operating systems.  However, I'd like your guidance.  Take a moment to vote on our user forum.  While it's not binding, it will give me some direction on how to help our community.
