It gives me great pleasure to write my first blog entry as the Senior Product Manager at Infobright.

Last week I went to Washington DC to speak at a joint meet-up organized by Jaspersoft, Talend and Infobright. It was an interesting experience to present to a knowledgeable group of people who shared a mutual interest in all 3 products. There were Consultants, Technology Architects & Business Stakeholders amongst the audience each with a different perspective, but all of them were looking to derive the maximum productivity and performance while lowering TCO for their organizations.

There was a lot of interest in how Infobright's analytic DBMS works and delivers high performance with little or no fine tuning. People familiar with row based DBMS's told me they found it particularly refreshing to learn about column store architecture and the benefits it represents, especially along with Infobright’s high compression ratios and fast load speeds. They can see that there is a better way to run analytics rather than have to spend time and resources making the most out of database architectures that were not designed to run complex adhoc analytics in real time.

It was also wonderful to work with our partners in the open source community and present a whole product value proposition that just works out of the box.

I look forward to the next meetup!

Regards,

Ash

As part of the Infobright Community Edition 3.5.2 P1, we collaborated with our technical partners to release updated versions of our virtual machines.  As a year progressed since our last update, I commit to ensure these offerings are reviewed at least once per quarter.  Please take a look at these open-source offerings and provide any feedback.  If there's an open-source technology that would fit with Infobright into a virtual machine, please let us know.
