This time last year, I switched from a great technical job at Yahoo! to help Infobright with its community. While I do miss my old colleagues at Yahoo!, I landed in a great situation with Infobright. In the quote above, I reflect on the movement of my career by making a leap of faith; where would I be if I stood still safely at Yahoo!? More importantly, how far can you move with a role at Infobright?
In the past year, our community underwent several transformations. With a strong focus in community relationships, we ensured our structure catered well to our community forums; quite honestly, there's nothing more important to open-source than a good forum. The community-contributed content site transformed to be easier to navigate. To really give a good site presence, we're in the midst of an entire website overhaul including forum restructure and doc updates. On a more personal level, we attended more conferences, called our community users, and solicited feedback from many forms. We even spent a ton in postage for t-shirts. Heck, we respond to every twitter and blog post talking about Infobright. The company banded together to ensure our community members received the best care and attention.
The best parts, though, are the people. We have a global workforce with strong passion for our products. From the sales team in Chicago to the engineering teams in Toronto and Warsaw, we're geographically dispersed but uniquely intertwined. The group works hard but also plays hard. The group encourages (and somewhat demands) innovation and strategic risk taking. Each member is responsible and held to account; it's a hotbed for go-getters and dedicated technologists. Plus, the vision for the company is downright spectacular. In the coming weeks, you'll start to hear about some of our new customers. Over the coming months/quarters, you'll begin to hear of where we might take this thing; I can only promise you one thing: it's hot.
So, getting to the "And You Would, Too," part: we're growing. We need people who fit this profile to help us keep the momentum. We need Sales, Sales Engineers, and Engineers to help carry this torch. Visit our careers site, and let us know if you'd be willing to step-up.
