Just in time for Christmas, Infobright released version 4.0.5 of the Infobright Community Edition. This release focuses on incremental bug fixes. It also enhances how data is marshalled; for some of you, this change could bring significant query speed improvements.

Here are the bugs fixed in this release:
Issues Fixed in ICE 4.0.5 GA
The following issues have been fixed and verified since the release of ICE 4.0.4 GA
#2001 Data loss during export to file
#2015 Version 3.5.2 returns duplicates on GROUP BY and DISTINCT
#2079 bhloader hangs
#2085 Server crash on query
#2099 Error: TrackableObject locked too many times
If you've had issues with the loader hanging during large data loads, 4.0.5 should address that problem. The next release should be 4.1 barring any incremental fix required.

To allow for easier adoption and usage of our community edition, we recently released the latest ICE AMI on Amazon EC2. In this release, we provide Infobright Community Edition 4.0.4 as well as the carsales database.
AMI ID#: ami-31b57c58 (Tiny Instance)

To properly test Infobright Community Edition, you will want to increase the number of cores and amount of RAM to recommended settings. You can use the Tiny instance, but I would recommend using 'tiny' hardware configuration for your initial introduction to Infobright. You will need to upgrade the hardware prior to POC testing. In fact, I recommend using your own pre-installed version of Infobright on your own hardware or virtualized environment. This AMI is strictly an introduction to the community edition.
