From time to time, a community member will ask, "Can ICE be used in production?" They are asking from a legal perspective, but I know there are also people who ask about it in terms of its capabilities to meet their needs. Legally speaking, ICE is licensed under GPLv2, and like any legitimate community edition, we do not restrict its use in production. From a performance point of view, some are skeptics: how can a single-node, single-threaded piece of software ever scale or perform in a production environment? Great question, and it's one I set out to answer.
Instead of me giving you company lines, why don't you ask our community members who use ICE in production? While some community members brag about their usage on their company blogs, we thought we'd bring those testimonials to you via infobright.org.
Starting today, we will be releasing community member use cases as described by the companies who use ICE in production today.
