I have begun my database adventure at Infobright, having joined the company recently as a director of business development based in Chicago. You can see from my background on LinkedIn that I have spent numerous years putting together communications and networking solutions. I am excited about the capabilities in Infobright brings to that arena! A key element I see in the communication arena addressable by Infobright is the "data tsunami" caused by the roll out of mobile broadband on mobile devices, such as Android and Apple, together with the rollout of 4G technologies such as LTE and WiMAX. This is a perfect storm of bandwidth together with devices that can really take advantage of it.

I see a 10X event beginning – any engineer or implementor will tell you when something is 10 times bigger or smaller it becomes worthy of attention, action, and investment. To match the 10x explosion in data comes a product that has 10X capabilities to match it.

Lets begin to look at what happens when data grows 10x:

-Computer systems and storage grow
-Management systems and software must grow
-Quality of service may be impacted
-Database systems that load and store data need rearchitecture
-Searching and mining systems capacity must be increased
