Thanks Ilya for your comment. Our intention was to simply showcase how one can easily use data from Infobright via the RODBC interface into R written code that could leverage the data. Pretty straight forward. Lots of R insight around the net.

With all due respect, I think that just simply write some words about connecting to Infobright from R via standard mysql ODBC drivers is not enough…

R guys are mainly have at least basic skills with data import-export and if they came to Infobright, they’d care about a little more sophisticated things, f.e.:
- comparison of Inf. lookup fields and R factors
- practical tips about effective Inf. usage on particular analytical task in R
etc.

If you aren’t trying just to spend your marketing budget and want to take attention from R community (which is really great, ICE, IMHO, will be very successful project if you are able to build comparable community around it), you should try to show how your (very good!) product can help to solve typical tasks or solve actual problems.
