http://www.infobright.org/Open-Source/Blog/Community en jeff.kibler@infobright.com Copyright 2010 2010-12-08T02:45:53+00:00 http://www.infobright.org/Blog/Entry/community_--_we_need_your_guidance/ http://www.infobright.org/Blog/Entry/community_--_we_need_your_guidance/#When:03:45:53Z Open Source Software (OSS) is a intriguing yet essential business model in the computing industry.  Look at Pentaho, Jaspersoft, Talend, and Birt.  All provide an open-source BI offering that drives some of the most powerful businesses in industry.  In fact, many of those businesses exclusively use OSS when available.  As with other solutions, Infobright uses OSS to drive quality, community-driven software with strong emphasis on user needs.  Since Infobright's Open Source conception, we continually receive great feedback from many community members.  As you can imagine, feature requests are common within that feedback.  That said, we're now asking for more guidance from the community.  Especially with respect to OSS and machine-generated data, we want to understand what features are critical for "site-up" in your business or project.  Does Infobright's OSS give you the core functionality to solve your business need or proof-of-concept?  Because of dedicated resources, Infobright Enterprise Edition will always have superior speed, company tech support, and warranties as compared to ICE; however, we want to ensure ICE performs up to expectations for an open source project.
