Answer: Data is stored by column and in groups of 2^16 rows (65536 rows).  Also, it is compressed by using an Infobright algorithm/mechanism.

Incidentally, in the brighthouse.ini file, there’s a parameter “ClusterSize” - maximum size of data files in MB [10 - 2000] which defaults to 2000 (2GB).
