In a recent blog post, we discussed loading data on Infobright via Amazon EC2 instances using DLP.  If you have any questions regarding that thread or using Infobright on EC2, please post them here.

Thanks Jeff,

I’m new to Amazon and Infobright deployment there. I want to experiment with that option. I just create Amazon Web Services (AWS) account (the micro for now) and I’m ready to install Infobright ICE 4.0.4.
I would appreciate any suggestions or tips that you could offer.
I can share my experience with this platform as I progress.
Thanks
C_George

Hi C_George,

You’re in luck! I just created a new, public AMI with Infobright 4.0 that you can use.  It has it installed along with pre-loaded with the carsales database.

AMI: ami-31b57c58

You’ll need to setup your permissions.  In your security group, I would add your IP address with SSH permissions.  That’ll give you access to SSH into the DB.  If you’d like to connect remotely to the database, you’ll also want to open up port 5029 (TCP) to your host.

Finally, you’ll need to setup your key-value pair.  Within key-pairs in the console, setup your key and use putty.  If you need assistance, let me know.  I’m going to construct a youtube video as well as potentially a white paper on this topic.  Let me know how much detail there needs to be.

Cheers,

Jeff

Jeff,

This is great. I’m completely new to the Amazon offerings, so it will take some times before I understand the whole architecture and be able to run all smoothly. Any white paper will be extremely helpful then.
thanks again and don’t worry about putting to much details - nothing will be wasted on me smile
