Hi All,

I wonder to know if there are the sources available for the IEE version? since you are distributing your product under the Mysql Licence you might be offering to download all related sources (inclunding the IEE version).

I there any link to download it? or do you offer the IEE version under close-box? thanks.

IEE is licensed under the closed source model. The sources are not available for download.

Cheers

Hi Victoria,

Besides that IEE is not what your slogan says; does it work out of mysql (stand alone product)? if not, I can assume that IEE is not more than “some new features” (a/k/a engine) to Mysql so it should be release as the same license as Mysql.

Could you please clarify this to me? (I’m not an gpl expert, just a long term open source user).

thanks.

We have a commercial license with MySQL (not under the GPL license), which give us the right to modify their code and release it under any license we wish. Both IEE and ICE modify the MySQL code base since we have our own optimizer and storage engine.

The owner of the code base that is released under GPL retains the right to modify that code without the requirement to publish and also as owner may release the code under other (non-open source) licenses.
