Coming in August, Infobright is releasing a new version of Brighthouse, our high performance analytic data warehouse. Brighthouse 3.0 has some significant enhancements to its leading data engine which increases query performance and memory management, as well as improves data scalability and multi-user performance. More importantly, Brighthouse 3.0 adds key new SQL functionality with support for Left Outer Joins, as well as INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE capability: Left Outer Join provides the ability to change data capture (CDC) from snapshot images of source data in staging operations INSERT provides broad, open interface to all data loading tools and applications that capture/create/store new data via standard SQL API UPDATE provides the ability to perform in-place revisions of attributes and effective timeframes in slowly changing dimensions DELETE allows you to drop data from your Infobright data warehouse that is beyond your reporting needs (for example, data older than your tracked 5 years of required audit) to free up disk space for current data requirements This release also adds support for the BIGINT datatype, and improves the functionality of Infobright’s speed optimized BH Loader. Additionally, Brighthouse 3.0 also allows loading via the MySQL Loader. Brighthouse 3.0 also includes expanded platform support, adding leading operating systems such as RedHat Enteprise Linux, Debian Linux, and CentOS, and support for AMD hardware platforms.
